We enter the weekend with Mercury in Scorpio setting off the perfecting Saturn-Pluto square with tense octiles to unlock secret thoughts we’ve managed to keep to us. They have most likely been brewing there for some time and might even have ‘tortured’ our psyche, because we could only find temporary solutions to deal with the situation, while learning to master the art of self-control. Deep down though we knew that this affair wasn’t really over and right now we may be looking at the worst-case-scenario. With our nerves strained to a point of friction, the clock is ticking, so to speak. Pushed in a corner, we may finally realize that a power struggle will be unavoidable and could lead to a complete breakdown that may end all communication. Subsequently, we may lay down the first steps of a plot that could put us in a better position. Our mind may be preoccupied with strategic planning as the Cancer Moon squares Pallas in Libra in the early morning on Saturday, from which we could be reaching an agreeable result when the Moon will trine Mercury in Scorpio one hour later. Her quincunx to Jupiter in Aquarius implies that our outlook could be a lot more optimistic by then and we could be opting to advance our chances. However, the Moon in Cancer will form a square to Eris Rx in Aries and a quincunx to Chiron in Aquarius in the afternoon, indicating a state of inner discord we can overcome if we choose healing over hurting. Because the Moon follows up with a trine to Juno in Pisces only shortly later we may be able to soothe our wound and calm the emotional waves and when she will trine Uranus Rx in Pisces a surprising revelation could have us reveling in our nurtured emotions. An hour later will the Moon travel over her South Node and then cast a quincunx to Neptune in Aquarius, which could evoke old sentimentalities, causing us to give in to our moods and to what’s familiar and feels safe, but might be setting us up for disappointment if we can’t distinguish what belongs in the past and what will support us in the future. In-depth evaluation will become more of a second nature after Venus’ ingress into Scorpio at 07:23 pm EST, which is heralding a period of intensified feeling experiences as well as strong emotionality with the potentiality to regenerate our Self-esteem. We may also undergo a resurgence of our deepest desires.

Sunday morning at 05:22 am EST will the Moon ingress Leo, permitting us to concentrate on our personal needs, whereas the Sun in Scorpio will trace Mercury’s steps and trigger the Saturn-Pluto square again. Consequently, we won’t be overpowered. Any lingering resentments may press for revenge and the sting could be toxic. A square from the Leo Moon to Venus in Scorpio in addition to another square from Mercury in Scorpio to Jupiter in Aquarius is indicative of an inner state of dramatic aggravation that could compel us to dig up shadow material and address it in unmistakable, blatant manner. Once our truth has been told we could regain our composure as the Leo Moon moves on to sextile Saturn in Libra and quincunx Pluto in Capricorn. After this episode strategic adjustment could be demanded from us due to 2 semi-sextiles – one between the Sun in Scorpio and Pallas in Libra and the other one between Venus in Scorpio and Saturn in Libra. Therefore, we may want to assess our circumstances now from a position of empowerment and sophistication. Sesqui-quadrates in close succession from the Leo Moon to Juno and Uranus Rx in Pisces in the evening could put yet another strain on our feelings should our needs be overseen again or our pride suffer in some other way. We may find it hard to forgive and could be acting selfish late at night when the Moon will conjunct Mars in Leo.

The Moon’s Cancer ingress at 02:42 am EST touches our nurturing side. Thus, we may feel the need to demonstrate our loyalty and dependability during negotiations in matters of mutual interest. Mercury in Scorpio will cast a semi-sextile to Pallas in Libra and a semi-square to Saturn in Libra, empowering us to take the next step and set a date or find an arrangement that’ll work for all parties concerned. Today we could make progress in regard to an issue we’ve been divided about lately if we take the right approach and make matters concrete. A sextile between Chiron in Aquarius and Eris Rx in Aries suggests that we have a chance to do something about our Selfhood from which a healing process could ensue.

Sadly, as we may have noticed based on what’s been reported in the news lately or even in our personal lives, some of us may find themselves in a mental state of strife, resultant from a condition of inner discord due to being wounded so deeply that compromise doesn’t seem to be an option anymore, even worse, the most drastic choices are having more appeal now, which might be because our sense of balance has been so distorted that we seek to “cure” one extreme with another. Chiron and Eris Rx are in the waning sextile phase of their synodic cycle, marking the inward-gathering and deliberating on activities based on shared ideals and experiences – the ’home stretch’ or dividends reaped. Add to this the Scorpio energies, most notable the Taurus Full Moon (opposite the Sun in Scorpio) and the superior conjunction of Mercury and the Sun in Scorpio, with the ruler Pluto approaching a square with Saturn in Libra, and the impact on the psyche is undeniable. As structures crumble and break down around us and our reality becomes a living nightmare, we might be so mortified and also depressed, feeling powerless and oppressed by forces beyond our control, that we ‘enforce’ a final solution to our problems by demonstrating some personal power as we strike back.

Delving into and probing the human psyche (Pluto) gave us in addition to all monsters of mythology, ERIS >>> the cosmic principle of discord as an exemplification of the split within.

This morning Mercury met the Sun in Scorpio (13+) for their superior conjunction, which marks the culmination of their latest synodic cycle that was started on September 20 (27+ Virgo). Ideas seeded at that time can now be seen in the light of meaning. As this cycle unfolded we may have had to analyze our plans and schemes for Self-realization in terms of their effectiveness to be able to discern, which of them will ultimately lead to Self-improvement, correcting errors of perception along the way. After deeper inspection we may have discovered that the situation is more complex and demands to intensify our involvement in order to influence the developments, thereby focusing on shared interests.

As I was writing this it occurred to me that I should contact my workshop people from whom I hadn’t heard since our last meeting back in September, which led me to wrong assumptions, partly based on feeling disoriented and experiencing a lack of motivation and drive due to having strayed from my path and gotten ‘lost’ (yeah, “a drowning man being rescued” comes to mind!). Well, you never know or can be sure until you ask! One has responded already – I’m still awaiting mail from the others – but the important thing is that I got my “mojo” back and continue walking a path that’s in sync with my true purpose in life.

Yesterday, November 3rd, at 04:17 pm did Juno station direct at 21:32 Pisces, where she last was on June 2nd of this year.  She’s turned retrograde on August 10 at 04:36 Aries and will reach this point in the zodiac again on January 1st, 2010. Juno is associated with our principle of relating and as such it is not surprising that she’s been covering the same degrees in retrograde motion as Venus did back in spring. How we feel about and relate to ourselves determines how we relate to others. Everything we don’t own ab0ut ourselves we project outwardly. Now, as these energies were turned inward we had a chance to become aware of these dynamics, in particular so, because the planetary bodies transit the same territory 3 times and thus bring the same themes back into our life. Pisces’ ruler Neptune’s station and resuming of direct motion the next day, November 4th, is concentrating the energy even stronger under the illuminating disc of the Taurus Full Moon “in order to rescue a drowning man” or in other words to save us from delusion and deception or betrayal – whether of our own doing or that of others. We may have been dragging our feet for too long, illusively thinking and longing for some ideal condition in denial of irrefutable truths and based on a false sense of security or misguided perception, that we ended up ‘drowning’. With the lifting of the veil from our eyes we can come to our senses, thereby ‘restoring our sanity’. Venus in Libra’s sextile to Vesta in Leo indicates a proliferation toward Self-commitment; toward “watering the flowers in OUR garden” as the superior conjunction of Mercury and the Sun in Scorpio forms, which marks the Full Moon phase in their synodic cycle (the inferior conjunction happened on September 20 at 27+ Virgo).

It just so happened that my appointment with the specialist for which I had waited 11 long months regarding a painful foot condition was yesterday. In fact, this turned out to be a real DISappointment as well as a waste of time, because NOTHING came out of it. Even though deformation is visible on my feet and lots of footwear doesn’t feel comfortable anymore – I better stay away from walking around in high heels – not to mention that stress and strain to my feet will cause considerable pain – the doctor said there’s nothing wrong with my feet. She recommended custom-made insoles – $5oo a pair – and released me. So, that’s what one can expect from the ‘fabulous’ healthcare system in Canada and I got a taste of that already a few years back when my daughter fell sick with a til to date undefined illness, which could be a form of acid reflux disease and she had to wait half a year to see a specialist only to be told that she is most likely bulemic, because she falls in this age group and lost so much weight. Well, if your stomach doesn’t keep anything you will necessarily lose weight and if this goes on for a longer period of time it will be quite an amount of weight you shed. You don’t have to be a specialist to derive at that conclusion. However, this is just an example of a 6th house transit by the infamous triple conjunction in Aquarius, with Chiron natally placed in Pisces in 7, adding information about the ‘wounded spot’ and the role relationships and interchanges with others play in this regard. There are more, of course. Seems as though I’m in dire need of being rescued!!!

Drowning

Today, November 2nd, will the Full Moon in Taurus take place at 02:13 pm EST and bring the theme of the Libra New Moon from October 18th (“clair-seeing”) to a head. Libra’s ruler Venus, currently transiting her autumn sign, will make a series of important aspects as well – a quincunx to Uranus Rx in Pisces, a trine to Neptune Rx in Aquarius and a square to the lunar nodal axis across Capricorn/Cancer. Mercury in Scorpio and Mars in Leo, slowly separating from their square, will both cast a sesqui-quadrate to Uranus Rx in Pisces with Mercury moving on to conjunct Ceres in Scorpio.

The Sabian Symbol for the Moon at 10:30 Taurus states:

“A woman watering flowers in her garden. Keynote: Development of the powers of the mind on which ego-consciousness is based – Cultivation.”

The Sabian Symbol for the Sun at 10:30 Scorpio states:

“A drowning man is being rescued. Keynote: The deep concern of the social group for the safety of individuals – Humanitarianism.”

(Dane Rudhyar, “An Astrological Mandala: The Cycle of Transformations and Its 360 Symbolic Phases”, Pages 77-78 and 198, respectively)

Planting a garden or growing plants inside requires a “green thumb“, because the light condition has to be ‘right’ and the watering has to be done with care and a sense of proportion or else the plant could be drowning in water. Venus in Libra’s square to the nodal axis at this culmination point in the lunation cycle emphasizes a balanced approach in the context of matters of Self-reliance (Capricorn) versus dependence (Cancer). With the awareness of endings (Venus trine Neptune – a drowning man) comes a deeper understanding of the mysteries of life and death (seed message of the Libra New Moon) and thus of the cyclical nature of life processes and phases of growth (Mercury conjunct Ceres in Scorpio). At this juncture in our path we’re asked to evaluate the meaning of the latest experience(s) for our own ‘cultivation’ or in other words for our sophistication or social refinement, while aspiring to choose the ’right’ path for us, the one that fits our individual talents and resonates with our unique vibration (Uranus Rx in Pisces receiving tense aspects) as it advances our individual cause, permitting us to express our true essence and thus rescuing us from becoming something we are not, exemplified in the symbol of the drowning man. The humanitarianism as part of this ‘enlightenment’ (Full Moon) we need to extend toward ourselves in form of assessing our self-worth (Venus in Libra) as well as the worth and value we receive through our relationships that is symbolized in the give-and-take-process associated with the sign Libra and the balancing act of the scales. If we live a life in harmony with our true nature we’re watering the flowers in our garden; whereas the water will drown us (collective unconscious) if we continue to follow a path or swim in a direction with no land in sight.
